The National Hockey League has announced the first 32 participants at the 2024 All-Star Game, set for the first weekend of February at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
One player was selected per team, with the first 16 players from the Eastern Conference being named prior to the Pittsburgh/Boston game on Thursday, while the remaining 16 players from the Western Conference hearing their names called at the first intermission.
Following the initial 32-man selection, 12 more players will be voted in by fans, with eight skaters and four more goaltenders being added to the rosters.
Fans will then vote again to determine which players take part in the skills competition the night before the all-star game.
The three-day event will begin with local celebrities paired with team captains, who will then choose four 11-member teams (nine skaters and two goaltenders) by way of the player draft.
Hellebuyck, who will participate in his fourth NHL All-Star Weekend, is having a sensational season for the Jets, which are tops in the NHL's Central Division. His 18 wins is tied for second in the league, while his save percentage and goals against average are both top-five.
The 30-year-old American has helped Winnipeg to 26-straight games allowing just three or fewer goals, while being named the NHL's Third Star of the Month for the past month of December, to which he went 7-0-2.
