The Western Hockey League has named its Rookie of the Week for the week ending November 19.
Taking that honour is 19-year-old Dakota MacIntosh.
The Winnipeg product has worked his way up to the WHL level this season, and has suited up in seven games for the Moose Jaw Warriors.
Moose Jaw's 2019 ninth round pick has two goals and five points on the year, all of which came in his team's three games this past week.
The Warriors went 2-1-0 in that stretch, with the 6-foot-2, 200-pound forward scoring both his goals and adding one assist in a high-scoring 9-6 win on Tuesday. He then picked up his two other helpers over the weekend, helping Moose Jaw to another 7-3 win over Edmonton.
The former Winnipeg Warriors AAA Bantam star originally moved south to the United States Hockey League and North American Hockey League in COVID's prime, before travelled back north to the Canadian Junior Hockey League. 2023-24 has been his first taste of CHL hockey.
