The Winnipeg Jets will once again be without Mark Scheifele.

The Winnipeg Jets are set to face off against the Boston Bruins from TD Garden at 6:00 PM central time on Monday.

The team, however, will be without one of its three top-line players for the 37th time this season.

Head coach Rick Bowness announced that Mark Scheifele will once again be out of the lineup on Monday, as he is still not ready to suit up in action due to his lower-body injury.

Scheifele is, however, along with the team on the road trip, in hopes of returning to action against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday.

He skated on Sunday morning prior to the rest of the Jets hitting the ice in Boston. But he did so in a yellow, non-contact sweater, indicating he still wasn't ready to the fold. Bowness confirmed it following the skate.

“He said it felt good today, so he’ll have another light skate,” Bowness said. “He’s still a few days away at least. He’s not playing tomorrow.”

The head coach told team reporter Mitchell Clinton that Scheifele won't play vs. Boston, but will once again skate in Toronto prior to Wednesday's game.

“He’ll probably skate again on Tuesday when we go to Toronto, and we’ll go from there. He’s missed 10 days now and it was just a light skate, so we’ll see.”

Having started the year together, the Kyle Connor-Mark Scheifele-Gabe Vilardi line has seen all three players active to start games just eight times, with two of those games featuring early injuries to two of the linemates.

Losing Vilardi for 18 games just six minutes into the third game of the year, Winnipeg then lost Kyle Connor after having Vilardi back for just four games.

Connor missed another 16 games, to which Vilardi and Scheifele both suited up. But, as the 2023-24 storyline goes, Scheifele has since been out the past three games (including Connor's return on Tuesday) and will now also miss Monday's contest in Boston.
