
With the top division featuring 16 teams - including the recently-promoted Slovenia and Hungary squads - the round robin portion of the tournament will run from May 12 to 23, before the quarterfinals begin on May 25. The championship final and third-place game will take place on May 28.
Representing the Jets will be defenceman Dylan Samberg (United States), while forwards Nino Niederreiter (Switzerland) and Nikolaj Ehlers (Denmark) will also be suiting up for their national teams.
Additionally, Jets draft pick and 2022-23 Moose leading defensive scorer, Leon Gawanke - who recently signed a four-year contract with Adler Mannheim - will be playing for Germany.
It will be the first World Championship appearance for Samberg, while Gawanke will be skating in his third tournament. For the more veteran players, it will be Ehlers' fourth World Championship, while Niederreiter will be making his seventh appearance for Switzerland, but first showing since 2019.
Group A will consist of Finland, USA, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, France, Austria and Hungary.
Group B will be Canada, Czechia, Switzerland, Slovakia, Latvia, Norway, Kazakhstan and Slovenia.
Samberg and Team USA will begin their tournament on Friday in the opener against Finland, while Gawanke's Germans will also face Sweden in Group A action on Friday.
Both Ehlers (Denmark) and Niederreiter (Switzerland) will see their respective tournaments begin on Saturday, with the Danes taking on Hungary, while the Swiss will do battle with Slovenia.
Each team is guaranteed seven games in the 12-day span, while teams finishing Top-4 will play 10 total games. All games can be viewed live on TSN in Canada and ESPN in the United States.
