The Winnipeg Jets will see some slight changes on the blueline on Thursday.
Defenceman Logan Stanley will make his 2023-24 season debut for the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday, when the Vegas Golden Knights hit the ice as Winnipeg's latest challenger at Canada Life Centre.
Coming out of the lineup is fellow blueliner Nate Schmidt, who hasn't played the best of hockey for Winnipeg in the early stages this season.
So far, Schmidt is a -3 with four shots on goal in his three games this season. He is averaging 16:45 in time on ice, which so far would be the lowest of his career since the 2016-17 season. The Jets' icing call late in the third period against Calgary in the season opener that resulted in the Flames' winner came off his stick.
Stanley, on the other hand, last suited up in game action for Winnipeg in the postseason, to which he skated in Game 4 against this very same Vegas team. He had a goal, three points and 21 penalty minutes in 19 contests for Winnipeg last year.
