The Winnipeg Jets have found their replacement for the injured Rasmus Kupari.
The team announced that Axel Jonsson-Fjallby will be Kupari's replacement within the bottom-six forward group.
With Kupari expected to miss four-to-six weeks with a shoulder injury - as announced by interim head coach Scott Arniel on Wednesday - Jonsson-Fjallby has slotted in alongside David Gustafsson and Morgan Barron, and is expected to make his debut on Friday against Buffalo.
Acquired from the Washington Capitals via Waivers last fall, AJF served as a regular on the Jets for the better part of the 2022-23 season. He put up six goals and 14 points in 50 games for Winnipeg last year but failed to crack the squad out of camp this season.
With Manitoba, the 25-year-old Swede has three goals and five points in 10 games this season.
In 73 career NHL games, Jonsson-Fjallby has eight goals and 18 points, while adding another 46 goals and 84 points in 166 AHL contests.
