The Winnipeg Jets have agreed to terms with defenceman Dylan Coghlan on a one-year deal.

The Winnipeg Jets and newly-acquired restricted free agent defenceman, Dylan Coghlan, have come to terms on a one-year, two-way contract for the coming season.

The deal comes in at the $775K league-minimum, should he play with the Jets next season. If the 26-year-old spends time with the Moose, he will make $200K.

Winnipeg acquired the right-shooting defender from Carolina last week in exchange for future considerations.

As a matter of fact, the trade to Winnipeg was actually the second that saw Coghlan flipped for future considerations, as he was originally sent from Vegas to Carolina - alongside Max Pacioretty - in 2022 for future considerations.

He played the 2023-24 season in Springfield with the Hurricanes' affiliate. He scored 16 goals and 41 points in 61 games played. He skated in 17 games with Carolina two years back, earning three assists in roughly 13 minutes of ice time per game.

Coghlan will now enter Jets camp in competition with Logan Stanley, Dylan Samberg, Colin Miller, Haydn Fleury and Ville Heinola for one of the three final spots on the Jets' blueline after Josh Morrissey, Dylan DeMelo and Neal Pionk reclaim their places atop the pecking order.
