The Winnipeg Jets have wasted little time getting down to business, just days after they were unable to get down to business...

Alright, alright, jokes aside.

The Jets have made the announcement that the team has signed goaltending prospect Thomas Milic to a standard, three-year, entry-level contract.

This deal will begin in the 2024-25 season and run for three years as he continues his professional career. The contract carries an annual cap hit of $842K.

Initially signed to an American Hockey League deal with the Manitoba Moose this past season, Milic showed up to play with Manitoba on the regular.

Selected in the fifth round (151st overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft last summer, the 21-year-old suited up in 33 games for the Moose this past season, going 19-9-2 with a shutout, a 2.72 goals against average and a .900 save percentage - some pretty incredible numbers for a first-year pro.

The Coquitlam, BC product put up 14 wins in his final 19 games, while starting both postseason matches for the Moose this spring. Milic was also named the AHL's Player of the Week back in mid-March.

The 6-foot, 180-pound backstop played in 16 games for the ECHL's Norfolk Admirals before joining the Moose last season, going 11-3-2 in the process. He won the WHL championship with the Seattle Thunderbirds in his final season of Junior in 2022-23, beating the Winnipeg ICE in the final.
