The Winnipeg Jets take on the Anaheim Ducks on Friday night.

The Hockey News Carter Brooks Postgame Report

The Winnipeg Jets will look to move into first place league-wide with a victory in Anaheim on Friday night.

Currently battling Colorado and New York for first place, the Jets will be able to take sole possession of the top seed across the 32-team league with any sort of victory, or pull even with both clubs with 53 points with an overtime or shootout loss.

Winnipeg will go back to Mark Scheifele centring to the top line alongside Nikolaj Ehlers and Gabe Vilardi, while Vlad Namestnikov shifts to play with Cole Perfetti and Alex Iafallo.

The other change would be that of goaltender Laurent Brossoit getting the start between the pipes for his lone appearance on the mentors trip.

Winnipeg Jets expected line combinations for Friday, January 5 vs. Anaheim:

Perfetti-Namestnikov-Iafallo

Ehlers-Scheifele-Vilardi

Niederreiter-Lowry-Appleton

Barron-Toninato-Jonsson-Fjallby

Morrissey-DeMelo

Dillon-Pionk

Samberg-Schmidt

Brossoit

Injured: Kupari, Heinola, Gustafsson

Healthy Scratches: Stanley, Chish

Puck drop on Friday night is set for 9:00 PM central from the Honda Center. The game can be viewed live on TSN.
