The Manitoba Moose have recalled goaltender Thomas Milic.
The Manitoba Moose recalled goaltender Thomas Milic from the ECHL's Norfolk Admirals on Sunday morning.
Then, just a few hours later, he came in in relief of Oskari Salminen after the Moose gave up four goals to start the afternoon game vs. Laval.
With veteran backstop Collin Delia listed as day-to-day, Milic was only supposed to be the backup to Salminen on Sunday, but he ended up doing much more.
He entered the game early in the second period and faced 22 shots. He turned aside 20 of them, with the two goals he allowed coming on the power play. Milic is now slated to make his starting debut on Monday morning once again against the Rocket.
The New Westminster, BC product has played six games for the Admirals so far in his first professional season. He has a 4-0-1 record to go alongside a 2.36 goals against average and a .901 save percentage.
He took home the honour of ECHL Goaltender of the Week in late October, when he went 2-0-0 and posted a 1.00 goals against average and a .959 save percentage with one shutout in his two games.
Milic was selected by the Jets 151st overall in the fifth round of the 2023 NHL Draft out of the WHL's Seattle Thunderbirds, where he posted a 60-23-5 record through his regular season Junior career.
Puck drop is set for 10:30 AM from Canada Life Centre in the game between the Moose and Rocket on Monday morning.
