The Manitoba Moose have found their first win of the season.

In front of a crowd of 3,551, the Manitoba Moose pulled off their first win of the 2023-24 American Hockey League season.

Facing off in the second game of a two-game set with the Calgary Wranglers on Sunday, the Moose bounced back from a Friday night collapse with a 3-2 overtime win.

Brad Lambert scored the game-tying goal in the third period, before assisting on the overtime power play winner. Nikita Chibrikov collected two assists in the win.

Calgary actually opened the scoring at Canada Life Centre with back-to-back strikes in the opening five minutes of the game. Cole Schwindt got his second of the season just 1:45 into the first period, before Martin Posposil found his first of the year at the 5:10 mark.

Neither team found the twine in the second period, before Manitoba responded twice in the third.

Chaz Lucius scored his first of the year on an early-period power play, before Lambert potted his second goal in as many games a few minutes later.

The game needed overtime, to which Lambert drew a high-sticking call on Ben Jones following a face-off play. The ensuing power play led to a Lambert shot, to which Dominic Toninato tipped home past Oskar Dansk for the winner with 31 seconds remaining in the extra frame.

The Moose outshot the Wranglers 40-26 in the game, as Collin Delia stopped 24 pucks for his first win of the year. Dansk made 37 stops on the 40 shots he faced.

Next up for Manitoba is a two-game set next weekend with the Iowa Wild. The Moose host the Wild on Friday and Saturday evenings, with 7:00 and 6:00 PM central start times, respectively.
