The Manitoba Moose have trimmed their playing roster, as the 2023-24 season kicks into high gear.
Opening the year with a 28-man roster, the team knew it had to begin its trimming process in order to keep bodies healthy and playing meaningful hockey.
Rather than rotting away in an American Hockey League press box, Thomas Caron and Carson Golder have been shipped down to Manitoba's new ECHL affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals.
Neither player suited up in the season-opening weekend series with the Calgary Wranglers, but have both seen action with the Moose late last year.
Caron, 23, had two assists in seven games for Manitoba last year, and eight points in 47 AHL contests, overall. Golder, 20, got into one game with the Moose last spring, to which he earned an assist, a penalty and a plus-one rating.
The two will look to draw into the Admirals' lineup as they open the season with a back-to-back road trip through Savannah and Greenville for Friday and Saturday night affairs with the Ghost Pirates and the Swamp Rabbits.
Meanwhile, the Moose will look to bounce back following the 1-1 split of the season-opening home series against the Wranglers with a Friday/Saturday showdown at home against the Iowa Wild.
