Avoiding a third period collapse, Winnipeg's top goal scorer Kyle Connor broke a 2-2 tie late in the third period, helping the Jets to one-goal victory and a 3-2-1 record through the pre-season. Nino Niederreiter got things going for Winnipeg, staying hot with his third goal in two games near the end of the first period. Then it was defenceman Collin Miller who also picked up his third marker of the pre-season on a shot from the point. But two redirection goals from Calgary's two top forwards tied things up through just 4:27 of the third period. Jonathan Huberdeau got things going 1:04 in, before Mikael Backlund tied the game three-and-a-half minutes after that. Connor potted the winner with 3:09 to play, handing the Jets their third win of the pre-season in their final test of the exhibition season. Connor Hellebuyck made 32 saves on the 34 pucks he faced - much better numbers than his early pre-season games suggested.
