The London Knights are paying a visit to Saginaw to take on the Spirit in a Western Saturday night battle.
There is not shortage of offensive firepower on either side, in what should be a high-scoring game.
The last time these two teams met was on October 22nd, where the Spirit took a 6-4 win. Nic Sima had a hat trick for Saginaw in this one, and Finnish winger Kasper Halttunen potted two for the Knights.
For the Saginaw Spirit, they just watched their 10 game win streak come to an end against the Greyhounds on Wednesday. They will be looking to go up 2-0 in the season series against London tonight.
Draft eligible defender Zayne Parekh has been on fire this season, all of the Spirit's offense seems to go through his hands. The combination of his creativity and ability to drive the puck offensively is eye-catching, and he has the ability to take over a game with his offence. He plays almost the full two-minutes on the powerplay, so London will want to stay disciplined in this one.
Michael Misa is always a threat to watch out for, as the exceptional status forward looks even stronger and more dominant this season.
Saginaw's new additions have been lighting up the scoreboard as well, as Swiss defender Rodwin Dionicio has four goals in seven games since joining the team. He is their second power play option on defence, behind Parekh.
For the Knights, they were handed a tough 5-1 loss by the Steelheads last night. London has been involved in some wild games as of late, as many as nine goal performances for either side. They will look to out-score the Spirit's offence tonight.
The trio of Denver Barkey, Easton Cowan, and Kasper Halttunen has been unstoppable for the Knights. The "twins" Cowan and Barkey have been playing off of each other as they typically do, and Halttunen has been a nice addition to finish some chances.
From the blue line, Oliver Bonk has had a great first third of the season. His defensive stick and ability to turn defence into offence is what makes his game so effective. The Flyers prospect has served as a perfect role model for Sam Dickinson, the top 2024 draft eligible blue-liner.
The winner of this contest will have to out-score the other. With two highly offensive teams going at one-another, there will be no shortage of goals.
Puck drop is at 7:05pm EST at the Dow Event Centre
