Keagan Knight is having a game that he will remember forever. He is playing his first career OHL game in game two of the OHL playoffs for the Erie Otters.

7th round OHL Draft pick Keagan Knight is set to make his OHL debut for the Erie Otters in game two of the first round of the 2024 OHL Playoffs. He will play his first career OHL game in Kitchener, as the Erie Otters will look to tie up the series at one a piece.

Knight has spent the majority of this season playing for the Pelham Panthers of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League, as a 16 year old in his first year of junior. He's been their number one defender all season long, and has put up 18 points in 41 games.

The former U16 Toronto Jr. Canadien plays fearless on the ice. He isn't afraid to engage physically or get into the heads of opponents using his edge. Knight has 140 penalty minutes this season to show for it.

Erie is adding a little bit of toughness to their blue line, but they are also adding an elite skater. Knight's skating is already at a major junior level — if not higher. He has a smooth, flawless stride and that makes him dangerous in transition. Knight isn't afraid to carry the puck and drive play offensively, but he also doesn't give up much in his own zone.

Knight was on a Junior B team that won just 14 games this season, but now he will join the OHL's Erie Otters for his first taste of major junior playoff hockey.

The Otters lack defensive depth, and getting Knight into the lineup now will get him some experience before likely playing a full-time role next season. He is slotted as Erie's seventh defender ahead of this game against Kitchener.
