If you only watched the three games we recommended last week you weren't disappointed. Both Ottawa and Windsor won thrilling overtime games, while Brampton smashed Brantford 7-0.
This week's addition to our can't-miss games series includes three more games that have the potential to be incredibly entertaining. These games feature some of the top teams, prospects and storylines from early in the season.
If you only watch one game this weekend, you can't go wrong if you pick that game from the list that follows.
Soo Greyhounds @ Windsor Spitfires - Thursday, Oct. 3, 7:05 p.m.
First-overall pick Ethan Belchetz is on fire to start the season. In three games he scored four goals and four assists tying him for the league lead in points. This could easily be another high-scoring day for the rookie forward. The Greyhounds average six goals against while the Spitfires currently lead the league in goals for.
The Greyhounds are in need of a win. They started the season with a pair of losses and are currently tied with several other teams at the bottom of the standings. If they defeat Windsor, they will not only get their first win but take down one of the hottest teams in the league in the process.
Brampton Steelheads @ Niagara Ice Dogs - Saturday, Oct. 5, 4:00 p.m.
Brampton won their first two games of the season in convincing fashion. They took down Brantford 7-0 and followed it up with a 5-2 win over Erie. The team is averaging six goals per game, and goaltender Jack Ivankovic, who was named goaltender of the week, has played incredibly.
Meanwhile, the IceDogs, who were at the bottom of the Eastern Conference last season, won their first two games taking down Ottawa and Kingston. Kevin He was a standout in both games, but the team as a whole has played well. The wins are more impressive considering Ryan Roobroeck hasn't scored yet.
The big question, can one of these teams remain undefeated?
Erie Otters @ Saginaw Spirit - Saturday, Oct. 5, 7:05 p.m.
This game features one of the top prospects eligible for the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.
Michael Misa has started the season with a bang. Through three games he has scored a stunning seven goals while adding one assist. He is single-handedly responsible for nearly half of Saginaw's goals. Watching him play is a reason in itself to tune in.
If Matthew Schaefer weren't out with mononucleosis, he would be going head-to-head with Misa in this contest.
If you needed more incentive, Saginaw has not yet lost a game in regulation. They have also scored the second-most goals in the league.
Opening week certainly did not disappoint, providing exciting games with a wide array of outcomes. There is no reason to suspect that week two won't live up the week one's high standard.
