In a goal fest on Friday night, Windsor beat Guelph 8-7, including four point performances from Jett Luchanko and Liam Greentree. The two may have been playing together in the CHL Top Prospects Game just a few weeks ago, but they are enemies in the OHL's Western Conference.

Liam Greentree and Jett Luchanko — two names getting a lot of talk ahead of the 2024 NHL Draft. The two played together on Team White at the CHL Top Prospects Game last month, but in the regular season they are enemies.

Windsor and Guelph may be in different divisions, but they are both in the OHL's Western Conference — and therefore they are enemies. The 10th-placed Windsor Spitfires took this game in an 8-7 win over Guelph, one with no shortage of goals.

Greentree and Luchanko each had four-point performances for their respective teams. Greentree was awarded second star of the game with 1 goal and 3 assists. Luchanko was named first star and had 2 goals and 2 assists.

The two had "twin" four point performances in the battle of two projected early round picks in the 2024 NHL Draft.

Windsor Spitfires captain Liam Greentree doesn't have many flaws in his game. He has speed, he has some size, a shot, and most importantly he has strong hands. Greentree leads with his hands, and his hands are what allow him to create offence. Not only is he a strong puck handler, but he moves pucks around the offensive zone quickly. Greentree seems to be able to get into the middle of the ice a lot to create high quality scoring opportunities, and he is able to finish in tight.

There is no hesitation in Greentree's game. He always seems to have a mission in mind and he acts on it. He doesn't hesitate on the pass or on the shot, and he has confidence in his decision making.

At the professional level, Greentree screams NHL player. He has the frame, hockey sense, and he is the complete package. It is easy to see him as a bottom-six forward, just as easy as it is to see him as a top-six forward. He has the tools to fill a lot of different roles.

With Jett Luchanko, it is hard work and compete. Many have compared Luchanko to being the "Easton Cowan" of this year's NHL Draft — meaning that his game is built off of his compete and complete game.

Luchanko possesses electric speed, and he won a majority of the skating tests at the CHL Top Prospects Game's on-ice testing. He has furocious compete and he is relentless on the attack. Away from that, Luchanko finds a way to get on the score board.

He has become the heart of Guelph's offensive core, and he has been leading in a variety of ways.

Unlike Greentree, Luchanko won't be that high scoring/producing forward. But he can be a support player, he can be a penalty kill asset, and he can score big goals when it matters.
