After a record-setting 2025-26, the Firebirds will still look to make some waves in the new season.
The 2025-26 season brought a lot of good to Flint, from a team-best regular season finish, to the acquisition of some big names, to a dominant first-round playoff victory.
But, as they faced Windsor in round two, that's where the good times ended. The Firebirds couldn't hang with an experienced Spitfires side, and a great season ended earlier than hoped for.
Now, a mini-transition comes, where players such as Kevin He, Alex Kostov, Mason Vaccari and Jacob Battaglia move on, and the team turns its focus towards Jimmy Lombardi, Charlie Murata, Trenten Bennett and Darian Anderson.

(Photo: Natalie Shaver/OHL Images)In terms of off-season additions, they've picked up the hulking Bennett in goal, as well as Nick Bogas in a trade with Sarnia, import Martins Klaucans and American forward Cooper Williams.
The Firebirds will hope these guys can help them maintain a fairly high level in what should be a tricky Western conference next year, with a lot of teams vying to top the conference.
Now, Flint should have more experience than they ever have before, and will be a team to watch in the new campaign.
