After a pretty average season, the Fronts will look to take a step forward into 2026-27.
It was a rather mundane year for the Kingston Frontenacs in 2025-26.
The team was destined for the middle, with some good pieces and good performers, but not enough to really push them over the edge to be a real playoff threat.
In the end, that left them with a first-round sweep at the hands off the Ottawa 67's and a preparation to hope to take a step forward into the new season, with some young names looking to really break out.
The off-season has been relatively bland, with the story of captain Vann Williamson committing and then pushing back his commitment to return to Kingston for his overage season really the biggest one from the team.
Instead, the focus will really be shifted internally in Kingston for the 2026-27 season. All three of Aleks Kulemin, Matthew Henderson and Nolan Snyder played pretty well at this year's Hlinka-Gretzky cup, and will hope to step into bigger roles in the OHL this year.
Meanwhile, between Alex McLean and Alex Misiak, there's also some experienced scoring up front as well, and they'll need to cover for the departing Kieren Dervin, who will join the University of Michigan this season.
The Fronts also have two solid younger goaltending options between Matthew Minchak and Gavin Betts, who will form one of the better tandems in the OHL this season.
So, there's a good amount of growth potential to bet on in Kingston, and it'll be up to the players on the ice to see how high they can take the ceiling of this team.
