A fairly veteran team last year will turn to young players in the new campaign.
The North Bay Battalion had a pretty solid 2025-26 campaign, finishing in the top half of the Eastern conference and falling in the second round of the playoffs.
They had a fairly veteran squad filled with a big number of 2006-born talents, and with that, there will be a lot of squad turnover as a majority of those players move on.
For North Bay, that includes key players like Lirim Amidovski, Kaden Pitre and captain Ethan Procyszyn heading the college or pro routes in the new year, as well as overagers Bronson Ride and Sebastian Gervais aging out as well.
North Bay will look for their younger talent to step up as they did in last year's playoffs. (Photo: Natalie Shaver/OHL Images)Ryder Cali, who had a breakout rookie year last season, will also be departing early as he chose to join Providence College before his junior eligibility is up.
But, that's not to say there aren't some good young pieces the Battalion can use to step up. Parker Vaughan led this team in goals and points in their 2026 playoff run, and Cam Warren is coming off a Hlinka-Gretzky tournament where he skill really popped.
Those two, as well as Shamar Moses and Ryder Carey, should be stepping into much bigger offensive roles in the new season, while guys like Carter Kunopaski and Kent Greer should shore up the defence, and there's always the wild card of the hulking Alexander Karmanov.
There have also been a few intriguing pickups for North Bay this summer, including acquiring Nikolas Rossetto in a trade with Brantford, as well as Rene Van Bommel and Max Crete in trades with London.
So, there should be some young stars ready to make some bigger impacts, and a few veterans rounding out the squad as well. In all, North Bay will look to keep the momentum of a solid 2025-26 campaign moving forward.
