The Niagara IceDogs may have dropped from first to fourth in the OHL Draft lottery this year, but they got a gem at #4 and he has just committed and signed to the club.

Braidy Wassilyn was the IceDogs fourth overall pick in this year's OHL Priority Selection, and he has now officially signed his OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with Niagara.

Wassilyn played his U16 AAA season with the Markham Majors in the GTHL. His team unfortunately didn't make it to the OHL Cup, but nonetheless Wassilyn was able to carry his team to a season that they can be proud of.

Wassilyn is the type of player that you want to build your franchise around. He can do it all offensively, he's an explosive skater, he has an elite shot release, and his creativity is off the charts. He has the ability to take over games, and he seems to have that "X factor" that gives him an edge over all competition.

With the IceDogs, Wassilyn will fit in nicely — as a centre or a winger — likely playing alongside Ryan Roobroeck on the first line. This is a duo that the IceDogs organization must be drooling over. Roobroeck has an NHL shot, and Wassilyn has elite creativity, what wouldn't be fun about these two on a line together?

As Wassilyn has now officially signed with the IceDogs, they will likely be looking to sign their second round pick Maximus Crete. Crete is another highly intelligent and creative offensive player, and he also plays with a mean streak. He is another player that could play full-time minutes in Niagara's lineup next season, and play a big role offensively.

The future keeps looking brighter and brighter in Niagara, and the signing of Braidy Wassilyn is another piece in that puzzle.
