The Barrie Colts announce extensions for head coach Smoskowitz and GM Williamson
The Barrie Colts have signed Head Coach Dylan Smoskowitz and General Manager Marty Williamson to contract extensions, according to Colts President of Hockey Operations John Winstanley.
In a statement Tuesday from Winstanley, he praised the two as integral parts of the Colts organization, saying that he believes the two will "continue moving this organization forward" in the future.

Neither financial terms of the deal nor the length of the extension were announced in the initial statement by Winstanley, but both contracts are believed to be multi-year.
Williamson was the Colts head coach from 2004-2010, returning in 2020 as a senior advisor and later as both general manager and head coach before being promoted to Vice President of Hockey Operations alongside his GM role in 2025.
Smoskowitz, a former player with the Colts, was named as the team's head coach in 2025, succeeding Williamson behind the team's bench. Smoskowitz was previously an assistant coach for Barrie.
In his first season as the Colts head coach, Smoskowitz had a 45-14-0-9 record for Barrie who made it to the OHL finals in his first season as an OHL head coach. Smoskowitz was also named head coach for Canada White at the National Under-17 team development camp.
Both will remain in their respective roles, Smoskowitz as the Colts Head Coach, Williamson as General Manager and President of Hockey Operations.
