The Cornwall Colts announced yesterday that they have hired Connor Cadaret as an Assistant Coach for the upcoming season.
"We're excited that Connor has decided to join us here," said Colts Head Coach and GM Marty Williamson. "Connor is a bright hockey mind who we look forward to welcoming to our city and team."
Cadaret was an Associate Coach last season for the Collingwood Blues in the OJHL. The Blues were the top team in the OJHL winning 49 out of 56 games during the regular season.
They defeated the Trenton Golden Hawks in six games to claim the OJHL championship. They then went undefeated at the Centennial Cup and won the national championship.

Prior to coaching in Collingwood during their red hot season, Cadaret bounced around at the Jr A level coaching multiple teams. He started as an Assistant Coach with the Stouffville Spirit back in 2018-19. During the 2021-22 season he moved to act as an Associate Coach for the Cobourg Cougars before heading to the AJHL to be an Assistant Coach for the Bonnyville Pontiacs the following year.
He will now make the transition to the OHL level as a member of Williamson's coaching staff. The Head Coach/GM is entering his 16th season coaching the Colts. In that time he has coached in over a thousand games while registering 561 wins.
The other assistant coaches for the team include Dennis Martindale and Dylan Smoskowitz.
The Colts finished eighth in the Eastern Conference last season winning themselves a spot in the playoffs. However, the Colts were a sub .500 team winning just 28 of their 68 games.
The Oshawa Generals eliminated the Colts in a six game series during the first round of the OHL Playoffs.
2006-born forward Cole Beaudoin was drafted by Utah in the first round of this year's NHL Entry Draft. The large forward should be a big part of the team's offense next year alongside Vancouver Canucks fourth-round pick Riley Patterson.
The team also signed fifth-overall selection in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection Parker Vaughn to an OHL Scholarship and Education Agreement. Vaughn was a standout at the U-16 AAA level last season. He proved he can compete against older competition by scoring two goals and adding seven assists in five games with the St. Thomas Stars in the GOJHL.
With a new coaching staff, and a roster that will contain some new faces, the Colts will look to improve on their eighth place finish in the Eastern Conference this upcoming season.
