The Kitchener Rangers have acquired Seattle Kraken prospect Eduard Sale & Olivier Savard in massive trade that sends Kyle Morey, Blair Scott & eight draft picks to the Barrie Colts.

The Kitchener Rangers are finally on the board with a massive deal, as they acquire Eduard Sale and Oliver Savard from the Barrie Colts.
Eduard Sale is a Seattle Kraken first-round draft pick. He is recently returning from Sweden for the World Juniors, where he represented Czechia and put up 7 points in 7 games.
Sale's hot performance at the World Juniors should send him back to Ontario with confidence, after a somewhat underwhelming start with Barrie. He is just under a point-per-game with Barrie, and has struggled to find open ice with the puck. Sale thrives on open ice and when he is able to create room, he is able to make defenders pay.
Joining Kitchener's forward core gives Sale a lot of options. Putting him on the first line alongside Carson Rehkopf and Filip Mesar would allow him to focus on working down low and around the net. On the other hand, he could play on the second line with players like Adrian Misaljevic, Luke Ellinas, and Matthew Sop, and Sale would be the go-to guy.
With Olivier Savard, the Rangers are getting a reliable, top four defender that can eat some valuable minutes.
Since trading away Roman Schmidt & Tomas Hamara, the Rangers have been lacking some depth on defence. Savard brings some experience as a 2005-born player — the same age as Sale — and size at 6-foot-2.
In return, the Colts are getting two depth players with Kyle Morey & Blair Scott in addition to eight draft picks. The picks include one second, two thirds, and three fourth round picks.
