Ethan Larmand will play his overage season with the Halifax Mooseheads in the QMJHL, after playing over three seasons with Sudbury Wolves.

2003-born centre Ethan Larmand will suit up for the Halifax Mooseheads in the QMJHL for his final junior hockey season.

Larmand played over three seasons with the Sudbury Wolves in the OHL, his entire junior career thus far.

Effective immediately, he will join Halifax, potentially the QMJHL's most historic franchise. The Mooseheads have an abundance of NHL-affiliated talent, and Larmand will have the opportunity to shine with this group.

The hard working, two-hundred-foot centreman will have the ability to play a vital role in Halifax. He is a consistently reliable presence on the ice, and he was never a liability in Sudbury. He won't be a player to fill up the scoresheet, but he can play a complete game and be a penalty kill asset.

Larmand totalled 62 points through his OHL career, including 4 through 14 games this season.

Larmand will look to obtain a pro contract by season's end, and potentially win a championship in Halifax.

The Sudbury Wolves have finally solved their overage situation. Including Larmand, the Wolves had five overagers to start the season. They traded Marc Boudreau to Mississauga at the beginning of the season, and now they let Larmand go.

The Wolves overagers are Djibril Toure, Andre Anania, and Landon McCallum.

With a finalized roster, the Wolves' management staff can shift their focus to their success on the ice. They are currently in a slump, having lost their last five-straight-games.

For the last few seasons, Sudbury has been a team that seems to be on the cusp of success. On paper, they have a deep roster with the likes of two first round NHL Draft picks — Quentin Musty & Dalibor Dvorsky — and Seattle Kraken prospect David Goyette.

The Wolves will likely look to make a few more transactions before the OHL trade deadline. Potentially some moves coming sooner rather than later, given their recent struggles.
