As the 2025-26 campaign comes to a close for most teams, older players across the OHL are beginning to choose where the next step of their hockey career will take them.
For Kingston Frontenacs captain Vann Williamson, his next chapter will be with Clarkson University of the NCAA, beginning this fall.
Williamson, 19, had 37 points (3+34) in 68 games with Kingston in his fourth season with the team, and added an assist in four playoff games.

His breakout year came in 2024-25, where he suited up in all 68 games for the first time in his career, and became a staple on the third pair on a solid playoff team.
This year, he was named the captain of the Frontenacs in January following Jacob Battaglia's trade to Flint, which he wore the rest of the season.
Now, Williamson is headed down south, to join a list of Clarkson commits that features a few recognizable names to OHL fans, such as former Spirit forward and Batallion forward Sebastien Gervais and IceDogs forward Hayden Reid.
For Kingston, this eliminates a potential overager choice, but it's never the most surprising thing when players of this age leave for other opportunities.
