The nearly goal-per-game sophomore will head to BU following his junior career.

The NCAA train keeps chugging along into November, as Soo Greyhounds forward Ryan Kaczynski has announced his commitment to Boston University via Instagram on Thursday.

Kaczynski, 17, is in the midst of a breakout season. He scored eight goals in his first 10 games of the campaign, before being sidelined for the past couple of weeks through injury.

The Syosset, NY, native was the 19th overall pick in the 2025 OHL draft, but had a pretty subdued rookie year with just two goals and 10 points in 47 games in more of a depth, checking role.

This year, he got off to that hot start thanks to his big frame and ability to go to the hard areas as a way to find some goals, which has seen the 6-foot-3 forward garner some serious NHL draft attention ahead of next year's selection.

Kaczynski received a 'C' rating in the recent NHL Central Scouting watchlist, signifying a potential fourth-to-fifth round quality pick.

With Drew Bannister back at the helm for the Greyhounds and the team once again looking solid, he should continue to be put in good spots to produce goals and offence as the year goes along and he gets back on the ice.

The exact year Kaczynski will join BU is not immediately clear, but for now, he'll be focused on helping his current team win games and showing himself off to scouts, knowing his NCAA future is solidified.
