The Guelph Storm have officially hired Cory Stillman as their new Head Coach ahead of the 2024-2025 OHL season.

Since letting Chad Wiseman go at the end of April, the search for a new Head Coach has been ongoing for the Guelph Storm. The Storm were eliminated in the first round of the OHL Playoffs, with a very young, and mostly inexperienced roster.

Today, General Manager George Burnett announced that the Storm have named Cory Stillman as their new Head Coach. He will be the 18th head coach in Guelph Storm history.

The Guelph Storm have a very young core led by Jett Luchanko, Quinn Beauchesne, Leo Serlin, and Brayden Gillespie. Their draft picks from the 2023 and 2024 OHL Draft will be one more year developed this season, and we should start to see some progression for the Storm.

Nonetheless, they have hired Cory Stillman to help direct this young group in the right direction.

Stillman played a lot of NHL games and has professional experience playing with the Calgary Flames, St. Louis Blues, Tampa Bay Lightning, Carolina Hurricanes, Ottawa Senators, and Florida Panthers. It is safe to say that Stillman knows what it takes to be a pro, and will continue his coaching career with the Storm.

Most recently, Stillman was an Assistant Coach with the Arizona Coyotes — which ended in 2022-2023. Now, he will take over as Guelph's Head Coach, his second stint coaching in the OHL. Stillman coached the Sudbury Wolves from 2017-2020.

Everything is looking up for the Guelph Storm development wise, and adding a Head Coach with experience and expertise like Cory Stillman adds a lot to this group.
