The Niagara IceDogs have signed a trio of 2007-born draft picks; Darcy Dewatcher, Eric He, & Rafek Dianov. All have been call-ups for the IceDogs this season, and have gotten in games with the big club.
Darcy Dewatcher is a defenceman who has been playing in the GOJHL with the Brantford Bandits. He is a smooth skating, smart puck moving defenceman and has played heavy minutes with the Bandits this season.
Dewatcher will likely be ready for a bigger role next season, and getting in a couple more games this year will be good for his development. He's played in 3 games for the IceDogs this season
Eric He — the brother of current IceDog Kevin He — is the next signing that the IceDogs have made. He has played in 4 games for Niagara this season, but has been playing the majority of the season with the North York Rangers in the OJHL.
Eric He has a little more size than Kevin does, and has the potential to be a little stronger physically. He plays on the wing, and don't be surprised if the He brothers see a little time on the same line.
Last but not least is Rafek Dianov, who is the only one of these three to score his first career OHL goal with Niagara. He's played in 4 games and has been noticeable in each game with the IceDogs.
Dianov has also been playing this season with the U18 Toronto Red Wings in the GTHL, but has only played 7 games with them. He has been up with the IceDogs organization for a large majority of this season, mostly as a healthy scratch.
These three are now officially signed and will all likely get a number of games in with the IceDogs before the end of the regular season.
