The Greyhounds acquired Charlie Hilton while the Rangers added Chris Grisolia.

The Soo Greyhounds and Ottawa 67's completed a trade earlier this week that resulted in Ottawa sending Charlie Hilton to the Greyhounds in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2027 draft.
The 6-foot-5 forward from Oshawa recorded four goals and added three assists in 32 games for Ottawa last season. The 2022 fourteenth-round pick played in Ottawa's first two games before the trade.
Hilton played for the Boston Bruins during the Prospects Challenge. He is eligible for the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.
The Greyhounds have had a difficult start to the 2024-25 season. They currently sit ninth in the Western Conference with a 1-3 record through four games.
Hilton will bring a combination of size and speed to the Greyhounds' roster. Even if he doesn't pan out, the team paid a relatively low price to acquire Hilton.
On the other end of the trade, Ottawa freed up some space on their roster. They have a couple of options for players who could take the free spot including rookie forward Jordan Perrier who is currently playing with the Ottawa Valley Titans U-18 AAA program.
The Kitchener Rangers are another team looking to shake things up after a slow start to the regular season. They acquired veteran forward Chris Grisolia from the Barrie Colts in exchange for a conditional 2027 fifteenth-round pick.
"We would like to welcome Chris to the Rangers," said Rangers GM Mike McKenzie."With some early season injuries and suspensions, Chris will get a chance to come in and earn a spot and ice time while providing a veteran presence to our team."
Grisolia spent the last three seasons in Barrie. He accumulated 19 goals and 26 assists for a total of 45 points in 177 games. He is a veteran player who can pass on his experience to a younger Kitchener roster.
After winning all five of their pre-season games, they have gone 1-2-1 through their first four regular season games. They currently sit seventh in the Western Conference.
Kitchener is a much younger team this season. It seemed they declared they were entering a rebuild when they traded former 50-goal scorer Carson Rehkopf to the Brampton Steelheads.
