Kitchener Rangers Forward Carson Rehkopf Signs Entry-Level Contract with Seattle Kraken

The Kitchener Rangers were eliminated from the 2024 OHL Playoffs last week, and their top sniping forward has just signed his three year entry-level contract in the NHL.

Carson Rehkopf was selected in the second round of the 2023 NHL Draft by the Seattle Kraken — and now they have signed him to an entry-level deal.

Rehkopf put up 95 points — and most notably 52 goals — in 60 games this season. Since Kitchener is now eliminated from the playoffs, Rehkopf is eligible to join the Kraken's AHL affiliate for the remainder of the season — the Coachella Valley Firebirds.

Rehkopf will join a multitude of former AHLers with the Coachella Valley Firebirds — Logan Morrison, Ryan Winterton, Tucker Robertson, Shane Wright, and another recent signing in David Goyette.

The Seattle Kraken organization is well-represented with current and former OHL players, as they also have Eduard Sale and Ty Nelson as current OHL prospects.

Carson Rehkopf has emerged as a top goal-scoring prospect in all of hockey, and he has been scoring goals at a ridiculous rate this season. His shot is incredibly dangerous, but it is his deceptiveness and ability to curl the puck into his body that makes it unique.

His shot power and deceptiveness make it nearly impossible for goaltenders to track his shots, and he can do it from distance too. A lot of Rehkopf's goals come from outside the dots and from tough angles. If Rehkopf has an open lane, you can bet that he will take it and usually capitalize on it.

The Seattle Kraken potentially have a future 30-40 goal scorer on their hands, and Rehkopf will now get his first crack at professional hockey in Coachella Valley.
