London deals Jonathan Kapageridis from North Bay as Knights continue sell-off of depth assets

The London Knights have acquired defenseman Jonathan Kapageridis from the North Bay Battalion in exchange for a 2029 OHL Priority Selection fourth-round pick.

Kapageridis had two goals, 16 assists, & 18 points in 55 games last season for North Bay in his first full season with the Battalion.

Having gone undrafted in the OHL Priority Selection, Kapageridis was selected second overall by the Sarnia Sting in the 2024 OHL U18 Draft. Sarnia dealt Kapageridis to North Bay in January 2025.

Kapageridis played his draft year in the OJHL with the Cobourg Cougars, where he was one of the league's top offensive defensemen with 30 points in 37 games, also appeared in five OHL games with North Bay with an assist.

A commit to the University of Vermont, Kapageridis will join the team for the 2027-2028 season, this year being his last in the OHL.

Despite not replicating his OJHL scoring to the OHL level as may have been hoped, Kapageridis has the potential to be a top offensive producer for London if he plays in their top-four.

London made room on it's blueline for minutes after trading away Jacob Xu to Peterborough and Linus Funck to Oshawa. Kapageridis could find himself with a chance for larger minutes.

However, there will be competition with Maksim Sokolovskii, Caleb Mitchell, Jackson Marthaler, and Jacob Vandeven all hurdles for Kapageridis to overcome on the left side of the defensive depth chart.

With Sokolovskii and Vandeven at NHL training camps with Philadelphia and Boston respectively, Kapageridis could open the season for London in the top-four, and on the power play.
