Max McCue has extended his goal streak to nine games on Friday night, in addition to an indefinite suspension.
London Knights winger Max McCue has been on a hot streak as of late, scoring in his last nine games. McCue has 17 points over that span, and 13 goals.
Last night, McCue scored two against the Sarnia Sting in a 5-1 win for the Knights. He has been getting more ice-time as of late, due to the World Juniors.
Several Knights players have been getting elevated ice-time and opportunities due to the World Juniors, as Easton Cowan, Kasper Halttunen, & Oliver Bonk are all in Sweden.
McCue has been playing on a line with Sam O'Reilly and Landon Sim on the second line, where he is usually on the third. The absence of Cowan and Halttunen up front have caused a major shift in London's lines.
In the fourth game of the season between London and Sarnia, there were a lot of penalty minutes in this vicious rivalry. Several players were thrown out, including Max McCue.
McCue has played with an edge since he entered the league, but now his actions have gotten him suspended indefinitely by the OHL. He now has 66 penalty minutes on the season.
His original penalty was two minutes for Unsportsmanlike Conduct, but it got him thrown out of the game.
Though McCue will likely miss some time with this suspension, his goal streak still remains in tact. He has officially cracked the point-per-game mark this season, with 32 points in 31 games for the Knights.
London will be without another forward up front, meaning some more line-shifting will have to be done for the short term.
