The Niagara IceDogs are loaded with high-end talent at the forward position, and they just announced another significant commitment to their lineup for the 2025-26 season.

Ryerson Edgar, selected 10th overall by Niagara in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection, signed his OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement on Tuesday.

Edgar, turning 16 on July 30, plays a high-paced game that combines elite skating and puck control, enabling him to be a play-driver offensively. He was one of the most dangerous forwards at the 2025 OHL Cup for the York-Simcoe Express, scoring four goals and eight points in four games.

“He plays the game the right way, he’s responsible, competitive, and has the ability to produce offensively. He’s a player our fans are going to love watching develop,” said IceDogs GM Frank Evola.

Edgar led the OMHA U16 AAA in goals last season with 33 in 32 regular season games and finished second in points with 60. The Express lost in the OMHA Championship game, but their captain, Edgar, led the playoffs in goals (12) and points (23), proving that he elevates his play in the big moments.

Niagara have successfully recruited their last four first-round draft picks after their drama with Sam Dickinson in the 2022 draft (picked fourth overall but did not want to report).

Ryan Roobroeck, Ethan Czata, Braidy Wassilyn, and now Ryerson Edgar will be an entertaining bunch to watch next season.
