Day two of the 2025 OHL Cup has concluded, and two teams have already clinched a spot in the quarterfinals. Four games needed overtime, two of which were played by the York Simcoe Express.

The Toronto Titans and TPH Hockey improved to 3-0 and will play Thursday in the elimination round. The Titans confidently took down the Elgin-Middlesex Canucks 5-1, while TPH shocked the Don Mills Flyers with an impressive 4-1 win

Wednesday is the last day of round-robin action at the showcase, and for many of these players, it's their last opportunity to impress the hundreds of scouts in attendance.

Written below are some of the top performers from day two.

C, Ryerson Edgar - York Simcoe Express

York Simcoe Express' captain, Ryerson Edgar, came into the tournament as one of the top-ranked players, and he's lived up to the hype. The Express lost 6-5 in overtime to open day two against the Sun County Panthers, but Edgar had a dominant showing with two goals and two assists.

Edgar followed it up by ending the last game of the day in fashion, scoring the overtime winner against the Toronto Jr. Canadiens for a two-point performance, and bringing his point total at the showcase to eight points in three games.

Edgar has been the offensive catalyst for his team, driving play and contributing to the scoresheet. He's a first-round caliber talent for the upcoming OHL draft and should be considered in the top ten.

G, Lucian Arniotis - York Simcoe Express

The goaltending performance of the day belonged to Edgar's teammate Lucian Arniotis. After he allowed six goals in the team's tournament opener against Vaughan on Monday, he backed up in their morning game and returned to the crease for their match against JRC.

Arniotis and York Simcoe had to endure a second and third period, which were littered with pucks getting through to him. The young man held strong and put together a 54-save performance. He was recognized for his play and received the Player of the Game honor for his team.

LW, Miles Jinman - TPH Hockey

The first game of the day was between TPH Hockey and the Barrie Colts. TPH handily took down Barrie 5-1, but it was all off the back of Miles Jinman, who is the younger brother of Brampton Steelheads forward Wyatt Jinman

Jinman had 33 goals and 70 assists for 103 points in 70 games for the Bishop Kearney Selects 15U AAA team this season. His offensive skills flourished against Barrie, recording two goals and two assists, and he was a +4.

C, Colton Colby - TPH Hockey

Jinman's teammate Colton Colby had an impressive day. He not only factored in on the scoresheet in both of TPH's games, but he also displayed his reliability in playing a strong and diligent two-way game down the middle of the ice.

The big right-shot center helped swallow up and neutralize the Don Mills Flyers in the afternoon, while setting up the game's first goal, and scoring right off the draw to start the second period with a precise wrister. He finished the day with one goal and two assists in two games.

LW, Brayden Lappalainen - Sun County Panthers

Sun County Panthers winger Brayden Lappalainen was a bit quiet in his team's tournament opener on Monday, and he didn't want to be silenced for much longer. The sharpshooter scored twice and had a primary assist in Sun County's first-game thriller, one of which was the game-tying marker to push the game to overtime.

The Panthers played their second game of the day later on against the GTHL's Vaughan Kings, where Lappalainen scored again and added another assist. With five points on day two, Lappalainen is ready to push Sun County into the elimination round.

C, Jaakko Wycisk - Sun County Panthers

After a 1-1 tie against the Upper Canada Cyclones on day one, Sun County needed their star players to come through on day two. Lappalainen delivered, and so did the projected top-five pick in the upcoming OHL draft, Jaakko Wycisk.

Wycisk's game has a lot of elements of William Nylander from the Toronto Maple Leafs. His pace of play can look slow at times, but that's usually because he's processing the play and already planning his next move.

Wycisk recorded three assists in Sun County's 6-5 victory over York Simcoe to start the day. In the afternoon, the captain excelled again, earning Player of the Game honors in the Panthers' 5-2 win over Vaughan with a performance that included one goal and two assists.

C, Gensen Geldart - Vaughan Kings

Vaughan Kings forward Gensen Geldart has been here before. He was a call-up player for Vaughan at the 2024 OHL Cup, coming close to winning it all before losing 1-0 in the finals to Ethan Belchetz and his Oakville Rangers

The Kings lost their lone game of the day 5-2 to Sun County, but Geldart was his team's best player, as he usually is. He recorded two pretty primary assists and had his feet moving all game long. He's a threat in transition with his speed and vision.

F, Michael Tang - Toronto Titans

Michael Tang of the Toronto Titans didn't receive the Player of the Game honor for his team in their 5-1 win over the Canucks, despite recording a goal and two assists for a game-high three points.

Tang has been a driving force for the Titans all season long and in tournament play. The right-shot forward has recorded a point in all three games and is up to six points.

F, Jeremy Freeman - Toronto Titans

Another Titans forward who has been an offensive play-driver for them all season is Jeremy Freeman, and he furthered showed the scouts in attendance why he is a first-round talent in the upcoming OHL draft with his game against the Canucks.

Freeman scored the game's opening goal and set up his teammate Max Delisle for what ended up being the game-winning goal. He's up to seven points in three games in the tournament, leading all Titans players.

C, Kieran Raynor - Niagara North Stars

Niagara North Stars forward Kieran Raynor is another player who was at this showcase last year. He played a year up last year with the North Stars and is now the team's best player as he enters his OHL draft year.

Niagara played twice, losing 3-1 to Waterloo with Raynor scoring their only goal, and then beat the Barrie Colts 1-0 to end the day. Raynor makes his presence known on the ice on every shift. He skates hard and has a relentless motor. He's also got great puck carrying speed in transition and slick hands to play pucks through opponents.

    D, Lucas Nutting - Elgin-Middlesex Canucks

Once again, the talent of blueliners for the upcoming OHL draft is at a minimum, but Elgin-Middlesex defenseman Lucas Nutting was a glimmer of hope in today's games.

Nutting, a right-shot defender with size, scored twice in his team's first game of the day, a 5-2 win over the Ajax/Pickering Raiders. The Canucks were in tough against the Titans for their second match. Nutting set up Myles Dunn for their only goal on the powerplay in that game.

RW, Noah Laus - Toronto Jr. Canadiens

JRC's captain Noah Laus wears the "C" on his chest for a reason. He's a player who is used in all situations for his team and plays with high pace each shift. Laus scored JRC's first goal against the Cyclones and assisted on their second goal en route to a 5-2 win

Laus continued his strong play in his team's second game against York Simcoe, where he assisted on both of his team's goals and recorded a game-high 11 shots. He did everything he could except score in their loss against the Express, but it was impossible not to notice him.

RW, Brock Burch - Detroit Little Caesars

The Detroit Little Caesars had only one game on the docket on day two. It was a thriller against Team NOHA, where the American team overcame a 3-1 deficit, led by right winger Brock Burch.

With his team down 2-0, Burch got his team on the board in the second, and then helped set up their second goal to kickstart their comeback. Burch added another primary assist on the powerplay late in the third to seal Detroit's 6-4 win

LW, Logan Wilson - Ottawa Valley Titans

Logan Wilson was the Player of the Game for the Ottawa Valley Titans in their 4-0 win over the Toronto Marlboros. Wilson made no mistake when he had two high-danger scoring opportunities, ripping home his second and third of the tournament. He added an assist on Ottawa's fourth goal late in the game.

C, Kaden McGregor - Ottawa Valley Titans

Kaden McGregor is a very likely candidate to go first overall in the upcoming OHL draft. His engine is like a diesel truck ready to 0 to 60 in less than four seconds on a drag strip. McGregor set up both of Wilson's goals with a display of his playmaking accuracy, and was rewarded with a "garbage" goal with less than a minute left in the game.

G, Brian Rathwell - Ottawa Valley Titans

The Player of the Game for the Ottawa Valley Titans could've gone to Wilson, McGregor, or their goaltender Brian Rathwell, who pitched a 26-save shutout. Rathwell was spectacular and made several incredible saves to keep the Marlies with a zero on the scoreboard. The Marlies had a strong push in the third, but they could solve the big netminder Rathwell.
