OHL Veteran Ryan Humphrey to Join USHL's Green Bay Gamblers
Former OHL Champion Ryan Humphrey will leave the OHL's Niagara IceDogs, effective immediately. He is joining the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL.
Humphrey joins the Gamblers who have lots of NHL-affiliated talent, including Adam Gajan (CHI), Julian Lutz (ARZ), and Jayson Shaugabay (TBL).
The former member of the Hamilton Bulldogs, London Knights, and most recently the Niagara IceDogs has had a lengthy OHL career. Humphrey won an OHL Championship in Hamilton in 2021-22, and joined the Knights on their run to the finals last season.
The 20-year-old was traded to the IceDogs before this season began, along with Knights' teammate Mathieu Paris.

The gritty forward has made many opponents dislike him over the past few seasons, with his physical edge and tendency to get involved in scrums. Humphrey is not a fun customer in front of the opponent's net, which is likely where you will find him in the offensive zone.
He has the ability to turn the tides in a game with a big hit or fight, which he does often.
Skill-wise, he has crafty hands down low and around the front of the net. He consistently creates traffic, which gives his linemates more space to make plays.
Nonetheless, Humphrey has a wealth full of experience that will be an asset in Green Bay. He knows what it takes to win in the playoffs, and he is the player that can create energy and momentum for his team.
Humphrey will have the opportunity to play under a bigger spotlight in Green Bay alongside some top NHL prospects. He will be searching for his own professional contract or training camp invite by season's end.
Humphrey is set to join the Gamblers in their two games this upcoming weekend.
