The Oshawa Generals have acquired injured forward Jacob Therrien from Owen Sound for two conditional picks

The Owen Sound Attack have traded forward Jacob Therrien to the Oshawa Generals in exchange for two conditional draft picks.

Oshawa is sending a 10th-round pick on 2030 that would become a fourth-round pick in 2029 should Therrien play 30 games in the 2026-27 OHL regular season and playoffs for the Generals, along with a fifth-round pick in 2030 should Therrien score 30 goals during the 2026-27 regular season and playoffs with Oshawa.

Thierren, 20, was limited to just five games last season for the Attack, having four points. Thierren had been out since Sept. 2025 with concussion-like symptoms.

According to Owen Sound General Manager Tyler Nother, the move is meant to bring him closer to home for both medical and playing reasons closer to family.

Whenever you make a trade involving a player, there are a lot of factors that go into the decision, but in this situation, Jacob needs to be close to his family and the medical support team that he has been working with over the last year with assistance from our organization. The Oshawa Generals allow Jacob the best possible chance at continuing his career at home with his family in the Ontario Hockey League, and we made this trade strictly based on what was best for him as a young man.
