First it was Connor Lockhart going to Oshawa, now it is Ryder McIntyre heading to Peterborough.
These two teams make their second deal of the season, as OHL veteran McIntyre is headed to the Petes.
The "Pesky Petes" acquire some more forward depth, in the form of a big, net-front, power forward. McIntyre makes this team even tougher to play against, and he should compliment some of their higher-end skilled forwards.
Ryder McIntyre will suit up for his third OHL team in the maroon and white. He began his OHL career with the Sarnia Sting, where he spent just over a season. He was then dealt to Oshawa, where he played for the majority of last season.
This season, McIntyre has had some injury issues and has only gotten into 12 games for the Generals. He has 4 points and 13 penalty minutes across those games.
Now he is off to the reigning OHL Champion Peterborough Petes, where he will fit into their tough style of play.
McIntyre isn't going to light up the scoreboard consistently, but he is a strong net-front presence who consistently creates chaos in front of the opponent's net. He has slick hands in-tight, and the ability to capitalize on rebounds and finish passing plays. The 6-foot-3, right-shot winger will add some size, and a veteran presence to this forward core.
In return, Oshawa is acquiring a 2027 6th round pick.
The Generals have struggled recently, losing their last five straight. They have struggled to find consistent defence in their young defence core. Oshawa should be looking to make some acquisitions to get themselves out of this slump, as they sit 9th in the Eastern Conference.
