Landon Sim was ejected in the first period of the Memorial Cup Final due to a check to the head of Saginaw defenceman Zayne Parekh.

London Knights forward Landon Sim has been ejected from the Memorial Cup Final against the Saginaw Spirit. He was awarded a five-minute major and a game misconduct in the first period for a "elbow to the head" of Zayne Parekh.
Sim has a bit of a reputation for throwing dirty hits and taking cheap shots, but this one seemed completely unnecessary. Parekh had the puck on his stick, and Sim traveled from across the ice with his elbow up, to deliver a hit to the draft eligible defenceman.
Parekh stayed down on the ice for quite some time, but eventually returned for the start of the second period.
Sim would not be able to return for the Knights in their most important game of the season, as they were already down 1-0 in the game before he was ejected. The Saginaw Spirit would score once on that five-minute power play, giving Saginaw a 2-0 lead.
