OHL Player of the Week honours have been released, as Saginaw defenceman Rodwin Dionicio is named Player of the Week, and Bulldogs netminder Matteo Drobac is named Goaltender of the Week.

Swiss Saginaw Spirit defenceman Rodwin Dionicio has been named last week's Player of the Week by the OHL. Dionicio had 9 points through 3 games last week.

Dionicio had three multi-point performances through those three games, leading Saginaw to a dominant three games offensively. He had a 5 point performance against the Barrie Colts, including a couple of highlight reel plays.

The Spirit defenceman has been living under the shadow of 2024 NHL Draft eligible Zayne Parekh, who is having a season for the ages. Being said that, Dionicio is a high-end offensive player in his own right. He's been leading Switzerland's blue line at the World Juniors for the past few tournaments, and he was drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in the 5th round in 2023.

In goal, Matteo Drobac has been getting it done for the Brantford Bulldogs. He was named Goaltender of the Week, with 3 wins in the past week.

He totalled a 1.62 goals against average and a .939% save percentage over those three games, including a shutout over Owen Sound. He only allowed 5 goals during the three games he played this week.

The overage goaltender has been the Bulldogs "guy" in the crease this season, with 2006-born rookie David Egorov backing him up. The Oakville, Ontario-native started a majority of the Bulldogs games last season, but this season he is being leaned upon even more.

Drobac will undoubtedly be the starter come playoffs, and Brantford will be in trouble if he goes down with injury. Drobac has been reliable in the crease, especially with their young, bleak defence core. He will continue to be that in the playoffs, and hopefully steal a couple of games.
