Two sellers at the Trade Deadline have made a trade, as Flint acquires Oliver Peer from Windsor.

The Flint Firebirds have acquired Oliver Peer from the Windsor Spitfires in exchange for five draft selections.

    The draft picks include a second (2025), two thirds (2026), a fourth (2027), and an 11th (2026).

This trade is an unexpected one, given that both teams have had a selling mentality at this year's Trade Deadline thus far. Flint takes on another overager after dealing away Zacharie Giroux earlier today. Oliver Peer is definitely one of the top 2003-born players in the OHL right now.

Nonetheless, Peer will do great things for the Firebirds in his short time. He plays at a very fast pace and will beat defenders by using different attack angles and lanes. Peer has the ability to change pace, attack laterally, and beat defenders with his foot speed.

He has been a big part of the Spitfires organization for quite some time. Peer was a large factor in Windsor's success last season — which eventually ended with a first-round upset.

He has 47 points in 37 games so far this season, and has been dominant on the top line alongside NHL Draft eligible forward Liam Greentree. Peer has been on the highlight reels a countless amount of times over the past few seasons, and has the ability to really take control of an offence.

Windsor gets a hefty return on Peer — as they should. They have acquired a lot of draft picks ahead of the deadline. As a rebuilding squad, Windsor is doing the right things to be competitive with their young talent next season.

Liam Greentree, Cole Davis, Jack Nesbitt, and Anthony Cristoforo will all be one year older, and one year more developed.
