The Kingston Frontenacs are on the board with their first deal of the Trade Deadline, as they are bringing in Jax Dubois from the Peterborough Petes.
Kingston is adding one of the best faceoff-men in the OHL, as they are becoming buyers at this year's deadline. Dubois will turn the Frontenacs centre core into a strong one, as he joins Paul Ludwinski, Gabriel Frasca, & Linus Hemstrom.
Dubois has the most faceoff wins in the league with 577. Kingston is adding a huge piece to the centre position, and their lineup down the middle becomes a lot deeper with this trade.
Dubois plays a heavy game, he is tough to play against and does all the little things right in all areas of the ice. He can play minutes on both special teams units, and fulfilled Peterborough's first line centre role while Owen Beck was at the World Juniors.
He will likely slot in as Kingston's second line centre, behind Blackhawks prospect Paul Ludwinski.
The Frontenacs have been winning games as of late, and picking up Dubois ensures that they are going for a playoff run. They will likely make another move or two before the deadline on Wednesday.
In return, Peterborough receives a 2nd round pick (2025), a 3rd round pick (2026), 5th round pick (2027). The Petes bring in three more draft picks to add to their hauls from the Mayer & Smith trades.
Peterborough has traded three big pieces so far ahead of the deadline, and there are likely more coming with rumours surrounding Owen Beck and other pieces.
