Columbus Blue Jackets' prospect Luca Del Bel Belluz has had his OHL rights traded to the Saginaw Spirit, who are loading up for a Memorial Cup run. Luca Del Bel Belluz is playing in the AHL with the Cleveland Monsters, but has the potential to return to the OHL at some point this season.

The Saginaw Spirit have acquired the rights to another big time OHL player in Luca Del Bel Belluz. His odds of coming back to junior are not confirmed, but if Saginaw can get him to come, he will have a tremendous impact.

Luca Del Bel Belluz played one-and-a-half seasons with the Mississauga Steelheads before being traded to Sarnia mid-way through last season. Del Bel Belluz is an advanced offensive talent at the junior level. If he were to come back to the OHL, he would step in as one of the best players in the league.

The Woodbridge, Ontario-native is playing in the AHL to start this season, picking up five points through six games thus far. It has become clear that Del Bel Belluz has translated seamlessly to the pro level.

Del Bel Belluz is an incredibly high-IQ player who is able to read seams and offensive lanes at a high level. He was drafted by Columbus in the 2nd round at the 2022 NHL Draft in Montreal.

Saginaw acquires his rights after several big trades in the last couple of days. They add Del Bel Belluz to their list of acquisitions with Alex Christopoulos and Rodwin Dionicio.

If Del Bel Belluz gets sent down, he will be a huge addition to Saginaw's — already loaded — lineup. He would likely slot in as their first-line centre alongside Michael Misa and Christopoulos if he were to get sent down.

Saginaw is hosting the Memorial Cup this season, and they are clearly loading up for a successful run. They will not only be a threat in the Memorial Cup tournament, but they are also set for a lengthy playoff run.
