    At 3:20 a.m. on Saturday, London Police responded to a 911 call reporting an abandoned running vehicle in the area of Colonel Talbot Road and Clayton Walk.

    According to a London Police press release, neither Allen nor any other passengers were at the scene of the single-vehicle crash. Upon further investigation, the police found and arrested Allen at a nearby address.

    One of the passengers was transported by paramedics to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

    Allen is facing a list of charges including:
    Impaired operation of a conveyance;
    Impaired operation exceeding blood alcohol concentration;
    Failure to remain;
    Failure to report an accident; and,
    Novice driver-blood alcohol concentration above zero.

    "The team takes this matter very seriously and are in the process of gathering information," said the London Knights via press release. "We have been in contact with the OHL and will handle this in accordance with both league and team conduct policies."

    The statement added that Allen intends to cooperate fully with the court process.

    London acquired the Washington Capitals' prospect at the trade deadline in exchange for Noah Jenken and seven draft picks. Allen has scored four goals and 13 goals in 18 games with the Knights.

    The 2005-born defender has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Mar. 6.
