The OHL has dropped the Week 15 Power Rankings, just under a week after the trade deadline. This weekend was the first opportunity to see a lot of players playing with their new teams.
At the top of the board remains the London Knights. They didn't make any big waves at the trade deadline, but there team has remained consistent all season long. The Knights still have a lot of young talent with rookies Henry Brustewicz, Sam O'Reilly, and Evan Van Gorp playing big roles.
Though at the forefront, Easton Cowan, Denver Barkey, Oliver Bonk, & Sam Dickinson have been the cornerstones. Bonk is amidst an eight game point streak, and Barkey is still third in the OHL in scoring.
The Knights don't seem to be letting up anytime soon, but the Saginaw Spirit are right on their tail at number two.
Opposite to the Knights, Saginaw shook up a lot of things at the trade deadline. The Spirit brought in Owen Beck, Jorian Donovan, and Josh Bloom to name a few. These are all big name players, and they have the potential to be that extra push over the edge for the Spirit.
Zayne Parekh continues to dominate from the point. He just hit the 20 goal mark, and he has been projected inside the top fifteen ahead of the 2024 NHL Draft as of late.
Looking further down the list, the Ottawa 67's had the biggest bump moving up four spots. The 67's are clearly going for it as well, with the additions they made at the deadline. Ottawa added the likes of Braeden Kressler, Jacob Maillet, and Sam Mayer, adding lots of depth to multiple positions.
It could even be argued that the 67's deserve to be higher on the list with their success as of late, potentially into the top five.
The Oshawa Generals are likely the most surprising team to see at number six. The Gens sit fourth in the Eastern Conference amongst a very tight race. Being said that, they have a 7-3-0 record in their last ten games.
The return of Calum Ritchie has pushed Oshawa up the latter quite a bit, especially production-wise. Ritchie's presence helps out in every aspect of the game, he's reliable defensively, offensively, and he always makes the players around him better. The Colorado Avalanche prospect will be the reason that Oshawa goes far in the playoffs — if they do.
Looking to the week ahead, the Sudbury Wolves are the most likely to improve their stock. They play two weaker teams, with Barrie on Thursday, Erie on Friday, and Barrie again on Sunday. If they go three-for-three this weekend, they have the opportunity to break into the top five.
