Beckett Sennecke has emerged as a top NHL Draft eligible forward in the OHL, and here is a deep dive on the ins and outs of his game.

Oshawa Generals winger Beckett Sennecke has proven himself as a potential first round pick in this year's NHL Draft class. Liam Greentree is likely the only forward that has an edge over Sennecke.
Sennecke has 59 points in 57 games this season with Oshawa, and a lot of his playing time is spent alongside Calum Ritchie — Colorado Avalanche first round pick. Sennecke and Ritchie have become a dominant duo in this league, and have brought a lot of success to the Generals this season.
For a 6-foot-2, 181-pound winger, Sennecke is a tremendous skater. He has that flawless, lengthy stride that allows him to gain ground on his opponents in a hurry. He has good edge work and is able to work himself into tight areas of the ice using his feet and hands.
Sennecke's combination of height and his long stride make him a unique prospect. A lot of players can be described as explosive skaters or have really high acceleration, but Sennecke gains space on opponents with his long stride and his size. He has the edge work to slice into tight areas of the ice, and he has strong agility to change direction quickly.
Sennecke's hands make him the player that he is. When he is creating or driving into the offensive zone, he is always leading with his hands. He has the ability to manipulate opponents with his puck handling and put the puck into soft areas of the ice. He has tremendous range, and he can handle pucks in tight to his body, but also far out.
He has the ability to make defenders look silly and pull off highlight reel moves, but he's also very calculated when he is attempting a move or deke. Sennecke doesn't just take risks for the sake of taking them, but he takes calculated risks when he is attempting a move around opponents.
Sennecke's hands are the reason he is able to create a lot of his offence.
Lastly, two elements of Sennecke's game that can tend to be overlooked. Sure he's 6-foot-2, he's a great skater and he has good hands, but he has the brain to allow him to be so effective offensively.
On the rush especially, Sennecke's spatial awareness and vision for skating lanes is advanced. He always seems to be able to draw defenders down low and cut back up high to find open space.
Sennecke is always in the right positions on the ice. Whether he is in the offensive zone or the defensive zone, he always seems to be in the right place at the right time to receive the puck.
His vision and comprehension of lanes in the offensive zone is incredibly impressive for his age. He and Calum Ritchie have this in common.
It is easy to see Beckett Sennecke in the NHL. From his frame, to his hands/creativity, to his awareness, he will be a treat for the team that gets the privilege of selecting him in the 2024 NHL Draft
