Easton Cowan just continues to prove why the Toronto Maple Leafs selected him in the first round, amid his nineteen game point streak.

Proving doubters wrong is all Easton Cowan has done in his junior hockey career. Just two short years ago, he was playing Junior B with the Komoka Kings. Now, he is one of the top forwards in the OHL and one of the Leafs top prospects.
Amid Cowan's nineteen game point streak, he has 38 points.
Sure, Cowan has been surrounded by tremendous talent with the London Knights and he has had some help offensively. Being said that, Cowan has emerged as a high-end contributor and asset in every game situation for the Knights. His offensive game has flourished even more this season, and he is getting every opportunity to succeed.
Looking at Cowan's point totals is astonishing, averaging almost two points per game. Beyond that, Cowan impacts the game in many ways that get under-appreciated.
Cowan is one of the most reliable, active penalty killing forwards in the OHL. He reads and tracks plays at a high level, and he doesn't give his opponents a lot of room. Between his hockey sense and quick feet, he creates a lot of turnovers when defending the power play.
Cowan is the type of player that coaches want on the ice when they are defending a lead, but also when they need a goal.
His offensive game wasn't as dominate for the entirety of last season. This actually became a concern for NHL scouts and teams — until the playoffs. Cowan was arguably the Knights best player in their playoff run to the OHL finals. He knows how to score and step up when it matters most, one of the most valuable traits in a player.
This season, Cowan has continued that offensive progression and he has been producing at a rapid rate compared to last season.
The Toronto Maple Leafs first rounder represented Canada at the 2024 World Juniors in Sweden. Though Cowan likely didn't have the performance he wished to, he was still effective in doing the little things right and bringing energy to the lineup.
When Cowan makes the jump to the NHL, this is the type of impact that we can expect at the start of his career. As he gains confidence and experience in the NHL, he will be able to handle tougher minutes and tougher matchups.
If Cowan reaches his ceiling, he can be a top-six support player who brings secondary offence. He has proven to compliment top talent well, but he can also drive the play when he needs to.
Cowan will be an exciting player to continue to track through his major junior career, and nothing seems to be slowing down right now on his nineteen game point streak.
