Jake O’Brien’s playoff point streak has come to an end after failing to score a point against the Barrie Colts in Game 4 of the OHL Eastern Conference Final.
Before last night’s game, the Brantford Bulldogs center and Seattle Kraken prospect had scored at least one point in 10 consecutive games which started against the Sudbury Wolves in Game 2 of the first round.
In that span, the Bulldogs captain scored five goals and 16 assists for 21 points. This is the second most points scored during a point streak this post-season, only behind Colts center and Utah Mammoth prospect Cole Beaudoin who scored 27 points in 12 games from Game 1 of Barrie’s first round series against the Niagara IceDogs to Game 2 against Brantford.
During O’Brien’s point streak, he had a hand in a lot of key moments that won games for the Bulldogs. Four of his points were assists on game winning goals, two of them coming in overtime. Jake also scored two game winning goals himself as part of the point streak.
To cap it off, even though O’Brien’s point streak ended, he was named the OHL Player Of The Week for April 20 to 26, as he had two goals and four assists in three games this week.
He can start a new point streak on Thursday in Brantford as the Bulldogs hope to get their fourth win of the series to advance to the OHL Final.
