2025 NHL Draft eligible Porter Martone has been outstanding for Canada at the U18 World Championships, up to 22 career points in the tournament heading into the Gold Medal game.
Porter Martone just keeps on turning heads at the U18 Men's World Championships in Finland, as he has been unstoppable for Canada. Martone has been dominating, so much so, that he has just broken Canada's previous record for most points by a player at the U18 World Championships — with 22.
Martone has 22 points through this year's tournament, and last year's tournament for Canada, and he is a large reason why they have made it to the Gold Medal Game versus the USA. He's broken a previous record set by Connor Bedard, a pretty impressive name for Martone to put himself in company with.
He has 16 points in six games in this tournament, adding to his 6 points from the 2023 Men's U18 World Championships.
Martone was impressive with the Mississauga Steelheads this season, but now we have seen him play alongside other top prospects — and he has been even more impressive.
The Steelheads winger already has a pro frame at 6-foot-3, but he also has pro-level hands. Martone is lethal around the close-quarters of the net, he does phenomenal work down low, and he's able to deceive defenders and goaltenders in tight.
Martone has played the majority of this tournament alongside another Western Canada exceptional status player — Gavin McKenna. They have both been assets to each other's games, and it has been phenomenal to see both of these players compliment one another.
Martone was also named captain of this squad for Canada, an impressive feat considering he is an underager at this tournament.
The 2025 NHL Draft prospect continues to impress on every stage that he plays on, and he has firmly established himself as a top prospect heading into that draft.
