Jacob Stoller and Patrick Williams discuss what former AHL coach Pascal Vincent brings to the Columbus Blue Jackets and NHL training camp performances for Will Cuylle and Simon Edvinsson.
This week on The Hockey News On The 'A' Podcast with Jacob Stoller and Patrick Williams:
- What does Pascal Vincent bring to the table as the new coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets? Before joining the Blue Jackets, Vincent was a head coach for the AHL's Manitoba Moose for five seasons and won the AHL coach of the year award in 2017-18.
- Calgary Flames and AHL Wranglers prospect Jakob Pelletier is out indefinitely after requiring shoulder surgery. Jacob and Patrick discuss what it means for the 22-year-old.
- Will Cuylle is making some noise at training camp. Fresh off recording 25 goals and 45 points with the Hartford Wolf Pack last season, Cuylle is earning looks alongside top players at New York Rangers camp.
- Is Simon Edvinsson going to be back in Grand Rapids? At the end of last year, it looked like a foregone conclusion that the sixth overall pick in the 2021 draft would be an NHL regular in 2023-24. But with Detroit signing Justin Holl, Shayne Gostisbehere and trading for Jeff Petry, it doesn't appear there's any room left for Edvinsson.
